This family owned innovative and entrepreneurial general insurance brokerage works in the fields of film and media, fireworks and other specialist markets in the UK and Europe. They boast many high profile clients and amongst other projects have insured the making of several popular box office films.

The need

With an expanding business, based in Bristol and Exeter,  operating across several markets the Directors wanted support to identify their development needs at:

  • Director
  • Management
  • Staff

levels to ensure that skills growth caught up and kept pace with the business needs.

What we did

We undertook a review of the business and its needs creating compatible top-down and bottom-up programmes. These supported the staff and operations managers in dealing with current issues and enabled us to work on a 1:1 basis with Directors to develop them to both drive and support the changing business needs at a strategic level.

 

 

 Our support began in mid 2004 and remains a key pillar to meet their ongoing needs.

 

What we achieved

We helped the Directors recognise and deal with key business issues whist at the same time enhancing their skills.

This has lead to greater role clarity and the Operations Director becoming MD.

Management and staff performance has been enhanced as has the overall business culture – enabling business and personnel issues to be raised and dealt with effectively and making the most of the talents and energies of the people working within the business.
