The face to face advice dilemma
The public needs quality face-to-face financial advice yet the number of experienced financial advisers is reducing.
The average age of financial advisers has increased to 50+ because more advisers are retiring from the industry than there are new advisers coming in to replace them. So, organisaitons continue to compete for the same advisers; advisers that are becoming scarcer.
The distribution dilemma
Product providers have invested heavily in the internet to boost sales but they recognise that the internet is no replacement for quality face-to-face advice. Providers need quality distribution to satisfy the need for face to face advice.
The customer service and retention dilemma
Today the customer expects to be able to manage their finances 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and to have the ability to update and access information as and when they need. However, our industry is struggling to provide the quality of service the customer requires as they are finding it more and more difficult to recruit, train and retain the number of people this demands
There is an ongoing requirement to recruit and train high quality Customer Services and Call Centre staff. However, it is a very competitive market with employers placing larger and larger adverts, often in the same newspapers and on the same job boards.
